Power naps are way of life here in America, namely because we’re work-obsessed robots who need to take a page from Spain and bring back the afternoon siesta, but if you’re anything like me, you don’t always wake up feeling very powerful. In fact, you usually blink a few times and then stumble off in search of coffee hissing ‘my preccciouusss’. However, turns out there might be a way to avoid turning into Golem: the Ostrich Pillow. Essentially, it’s a pillow designed to let you bury your head into a microfiber oblivion and block out the triggers that keep you awake. Is it worth looking like a burnt-out teletubby? We’re not entirely sure - all we know is that you pair this bad boy with a Snuggie and you are easily the coolest person in the room.

For those of you who criticize Janelle’s signature monochromatic look.From her speech on “Black Girls Rock”:“When I started my music career, I was a maid. I used to clean houses. My mother was a proud janitor. My stepfather, who raised me like his very own, worked at the post office and my father was a trashman. They all wore uniforms and that’s why I stand here today, in my black and white, and I wear my uniform to honor them.This is a reminder that I have work to do. I have people to uplift. I have people to inspire. And today, I wear my uniform proudly as a Cover Girl. I want to be clear, young girls, I didn’t have to change who I was to become a Cover Girl. I didn’t have to become perfect because I’ve learned throughout my journey that perfection is the enemy of greatness.Embrace what makes you unique, even if it makes others uncomfortable.” - Janelle Monáe

There’s a new Hyperbole and a Half, you guys, and it is spectacular.

“When I say that deciding to not kill myself was the worst part, I should clarify that I don’t mean it in a retrospective sense. From where I am now, it seems like a solid enough decision. But at the time, it felt like I had been dragging myself through the most miserable, endless wasteland, and — far in the distance — I had seen the promising glimmer of a slightly less miserable wasteland. And for just a moment, I thought maybe I’d be able to stop and rest. But as soon as I arrived at the border of the less miserable wasteland, I found out that I’d have to turn around and walk back the other way.”

Recognize these photos? If you’ve seen Star Wars, you probably do.

This the abandoned set of Tatooine, Luke Skywalker’s home planet. A photographer accidentally stumbled upon the set, which sits in the Tunisian desert. They sit in perfect stillness, at the crest of the Sahara Desert, eaten away by dust and sand.

This made me think. What if, in thousands, or hundred of years, humans dug this up, in an archaeological dig of some sort and thought that this is how we lived. See, they’d be getting a whole false set of information about our life times.

Even more so than that, which if, certain things that we’ve dug up in archaeological digs are merely just theatre/play sets, and we think that they were made for a particular reason.

I don’t know, kind of just made me realise how weird that would be.

I made a series of Calming Bunnies (based off of the Calming Manatee meme) for my friend Gab, who isn’t a huge fan of manatees!

We can always use more bunnies, I think.

bunnies

So cute and sweet I’m nearly crying ;_;

I am not as big a fan of manatees either. But bunnies. This is making my heart all warm. Exactly what I need on a recharge day.
